My Walker named Hector

I am still using the walker, which I have named “Hector”, and am very glad to have it. I use it to go for walks here in Pioneer Park, and when I go for chemo treatments, the volunteer drivers put it in their vehicles so that I can use it inside the hospital.

It will be a year next month since I fell and crushed the vertebrae in my back, and although it is not as painful as it was, it has not completely healed. I can at least drive my car without pain now, but I don’t go very far in it, mostly for groceries, cat food, and doctors’ appointments, etc. Last summer, I sat in it while watering my front garden, as the hoses are heavy.

I have received many compliments on the walker, and am very glad to have it.

Lift chair

I want to say thanks for lift chair. I love it and it goes with my furniture. Best 30 dollars I ever spent.

Many Heartfelt Thanks

Martin dropped by with my Walker request this morning. It’s perfect. Exactly what I needed. It gives me confidence to walk while trying to complete daily chores.

God Bless you all.

Sincerely,
JS

Tedd’s Scooter

On behalf of Tedd Vallis, Doug, and Myself, we want to thank you and your volunteers for making Tedd’s life a bit brighter. Thank you to the dear lady who founded this program and for her vision to help others. You have blessed many people, may you too be blessed this day and always.

CJS, Langley

I was struggling with weak knees as I grew older and was beginning to fear the strain of sitting down and getting up from the toilet. Then I was introduced to the Langley Pos-Abilities Aide Society. I told them my dilemma and they suggested a security pole to help me.

I had no idea that an aid like that even existed.

It has been installed and for the first time in years I was able to sit and stand with very little pain. What an answer to my prayers.
I cannot thank the Society enough for coming through for me. The gift of the pole will keep me in my home for years to come.

TOAD, James Hill

Zosia and her team came to our school with their “Try On A Disability” program and it was a big success. Zosia was wonderful to plan with and the organizers were patient, kind and supportive of our students as they went through the learning stations. Our students not only enjoyed the day with them but, more importantly, developed more empathy and a better understanding about life with a physical disability. We look forward to having Langley Pos-Abilities back at our school in the near future.

Sleep apnea machine

Thank you so very much for your generous gift from your pos-abilities organization.  This machine is a godsend to me.  I appreciate and am grateful to know Zosia.  She is a kind and caring person who will help anyone who needs help.

Try on a Disability 2

The demonstration where the woman was hearing voices was so enlightening for me because my cousin had schizophrenia and it gave me a deeper understanding of his struggles – it was heartbreaking.

Try on a Disability

Although I have done sensitivity training before for mental health issues, I really appreciated the opportunity to try on a disability. It definitely made me more mindful and aware of the challenges people with disabilities face and the little things I may be able to do to help.

St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church, Aldergrove

We had been trying to find resources to replace an electric wheelchair for one of our parish members. You achieved more in one week than we had in 5 months! We cannot thank you enough, not only for all your support, but also for your amazing, positive attitude. Thank you again for all you are accomplishing in our communities.

Regardless of any other help, seeing you use your reacher has changed my life. I bought myself a long one with suction cups, and I took down some things from high shelves that I either want but couldn’t really get, or have no use for. And I must have picked up at least 500 things from the floor with it by now, including scraps of paper and so much more. Suddenly I am not helpless, but powerful. Maybe that seems silly, but I really feel it.

Just wanted to say a huge THANK-YOU for the machine for [name withheld].  He set it up yesterday and has already spend hours on it.  He told me that it is the most amazing gift he has ever received and he is now able to read! [He] has always avoided reading anything for it was such a huge struggle but now he is going around the house collecting machines, books anything that he wants to see, and enhancing them on the screen.  Tonight he was able, for the first time, to help my 8 yr old with his reading homework. The 2 of them set at the desk and [name withheld] easily followed along.  You have forever changed his way of life! THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU ZOSIA from the bottom of our hearts!

KH

After 9 years of struggling, calling fire dept, crying and begging A1 wheelchairs to please help fix my wheelchair to make it usable and safe as they were contacted to do, Zosia finally put me on to Rob of ‘the rehab shop’. Thank you so much Zosia! Rob fixed my chair and helped me arrange for a new one…He’s a great guy…so refreshingly helpful! Thanks again.

I wish you organization well with the fundraiser but I am on call that weekend so will not be able to come. You are making a difference in the community, I have had clients on service that have received equipment from you.
